We envision a Wilmington where all people have direct access to fresh affordable locally grown produce.
We strive to meet the local nutritional needs of our community by traveling to our neighbors and offering free produce grown in New Hanover county soil.
For over a decade Harbor has served our community through a Food mission that provides groceries every week for local families. After years of doing this meaningful work, we felt a call to expand our efforts and develop a farm that would not only provide locally grown food to those we’re already serving, but to travel into local food apartheids to meet their nutritional needs, using the Harbor Farm Truck.
We believe providing charity with dignity requires meeting people where they are. In January of 2023 we broke ground to build the infrastructure of Harbor Farm, which included building a well, irrigation, electricity, fencing, raised beds, and a greenhouse. Today we’re a fully functioning farm that exist solely to meet the nutritional needs of our neighbors. Harbor Farm is also be a place of discovery, a place where people can uncover a love for nature, learn about ecology, and find meaning through service. We hope you’ll join us in our mission.
